Backend Intern | Django REST APIs (Freiwilliges Praktikum)

We are seeking a motivated Backend Intern/Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have first experience in Django and in creating REST APIs. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our backend systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient.

Please mention two focus areas for the time of your internship.

1. Backend Development:
   • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend systems using Django.
   • Create and manage RESTful APIs to support various front-end services and applications.
2. Database Management:
   • Design and optimize database schemas to ensure data integrity and performance.
   • Perform database migrations, backups, and recovery operations.
3. Integration and Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
   • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to implement data-driven features.
4. Testing and Debugging:
   • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
   • Debug and resolve technical issues across development and production environments.
5. Documentation and Best Practices:
   • Document codebase, APIs, and system architecture.
   • Adhere to best practices in software development, including code reviews, version control, and continuous integration.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Initial experience as a Backend Developer, with a strong focus on Django.
• Interest in building and maintaining REST APIs/ Postman.
• Solid understanding of database design and management (e.g., Postgres).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English and/or German.
